thankot is a hiperling url which are supported about thankot vdc.Thankot is a large village lies in the west of Kathmandu District in the Bagmati Zone in central Nepal. It lies in the bed of 'Chandragiri hill'. According to the 1980 Nepal census it has a population of 5,755 and has 1,075 households. This a main entrance in the capital from rest part of the country.
Some of the important places in thankot are 'Tribhuwan park', 'Narayan temple', 'Chadragiri hill'.Kathmandu district is a part of Kathmandu valley which is the melting pot of various cultural groups, ethnicities, races, languages and religions. Along with these festivals, with the influx of population from other parts of Nepal, India, Tibet and South Asia, other festivals such as Teej, Chhath, Sakela, Lhosar, Janai Purnima, Deuda etc. are also celebrated.
